Matt, I would love to have a Aquavesg, but the problem is that here it costs half of the minimum salary. I’m 6′, lbs with a 34″ waist and a 46″ chest.

In thepulling on the side straps tightens up the whole system, including shoulder straps. Does anyone knows if this problem will be fixed with Kokotat ronin pro?? I suppose the Green Jacket replaced it.

Do you know what size does it go up to? Good side impact protection built in, spinal protection good where the vest covers but it doesn’t cover very high up the spine – a protection trade-off to mobility.

The plastic is necessary to the smooth adjustment of the jacket’s size but you would have to be pretty lucky to have it protect your ribs. The Descent is also running about a half size small. There is no satral a pocket on the sleeve. My Astral was new at the beginning of the season.

I meant the Ronin Pro, not the normal Ronin from Kokatat. Great way to get in shape for the creeking season!

It comes down to how each PFD feels on you, since everyone’s body is different. I have used it in a touring kayak and WW kayak several times. Am I missing something? Atral decided on the small because it fit me a little closer, but the large probably would have been fine.

Adrian, I have a few Aquavest ‘s in stock still. Every time you put on the Aquavest you have to tighten four separate straps and every time you take it off you have to loosen these four straps. I suppose this is true because there is some extra plastic there but the description is a bit misleading. It takes so much time and effort and money to get a new model in production and it had many fans like me it doesn’t make economical sense to have sacked it, not to me anyway. And thats a lot of money in Euros. Decisions, decisions because I was very happy with my Astral Rob, Keep me in mind when you go to sell your R I like the fit and really appreciate the cow-tail holder, and the QR harness. Stohlquist X-Tract-D problems with pocket durability and abrasion and the Kokotat Ronin Pro may be two other contenders.

Seems sizing is a bit of an issue for them. I’ve had this vest for about a year now. Thanks for the info and the link. The administrator has disabled public write access.

However, the green jacket is better on every other aspect imo.

Pull-over design is very secure and allows for the large main pocket and doesn’t require re-threading the rescue harness every time you don the vest. Our height and weight when choosing a kayak. My favourite innovation is the zipper pouch that holds the pig-tail, cow-tail, monkey-tail, whatever you want astrak call it. It is very low profile and incorporates many well-constructed safety features.

Wonder what size I’d go for It is a front entry and wraparound side protection. I have paddled with a good amount of people, and most seem to have the or GJ.
