Michael Oriente 27 September at Travis 8 May at IvIark 12 November at Just built this and it sounds fantastic. Like I said before, ain’t nuthin’ that says “tremolo” like Fender-based surf music, so the clip will be very familiar to those children of the 60’s like myself. Page 2 of 2 First 1 2 Jump to page: I’ve checked and rechecked for bridges, grounds, bad joints, crossed wires, and proper component orientation and such, but no dice.

If I set it outside of the range, and then set it back it lags for seconds befor the effect kicks back in. Echovinz 17 March at Diode is 1n and connected differently also. On the byoc site the jumper wires on the switch are connected differently. Unfortunately there are an awful lot of fake JFETs on ebay, so you are not alone in having problems with them!

If ground isn’t 0V then there is something wrong with the grounding of the effect.

Blogs Contributing Member Advanced Search. Anybody have any ideas about what I should check?

Also, you can definitely get it slower if you want. Echovinz 16 March at I have positive facing byov led and Q4 Base. I’m pretty confident that the layout matches the schematic, so something is amiss somewhere.

Anyway, I did it, it sounds bgoc, and my first attempt at etching the enclosure went really well. Any thoughts as to how to resolved? Gonna try the rate mod mentioned above.

The BYOC trem sounds like an old amp’s trem to me.

Thanks for verifying Paulo. The diode is fine, I just connected in series instead of parallel so you don’t have to worry about it exploding as I do with boyc of these circuitsbut the R will obviously make a huge difference so great spot on that one. I mean, the effect is fine, but, top end is a bit dull and it has a lot o grit Thanks to all for the effort.

By the trremolo – thx for this blog! Posted by IvIark at It could be an issue whereby the specific gain of the transistors in this circuit is important, and your byco were nearer to the required figure than your 2N I am wondering if I could have also used trimmers with the 2ns to get around this.

The surfing theme in BLUE. I did try the 2n and got similar results to the 2n The thing that confuses me straight away is that you’re showing 6.

Guitar FX Layouts: BYOC Tremolo

This is true for the sound and the LED. The emitter of Q4 makes no connection in the bypassed state, and so when you turn the effect on it also grounds the emitter which turns the LFO on and as a result also starts the indication LED pulsing in sync with the set tremopo.

They are roughly eqiuvalent, and along with tremooo are commonly swapped around in the same circuits as substitutes. A couple have built it and had problems, but I’ve been over it and I’m confident it matches the schematic. As to finish, it’s weird. Skajaquada 26 July at Originally Posted by duhvoodooman. When I engage it, the light pulses in time with the rate, but not getting any sound at all.
