I think i can do a word-for-word reproductio Part autobiography, part history, part lessons in animation and characterization, part tribute to the people he worked with and created, this is a delightful excursion into the life of someone who has made me laugh as long as I can remember.

His writing style is straight to the point and always honest, and as he describes his childhood, his love for Mark Twain, and the atmosphere at “Termite Terrace,” it’s clear to see where his inspiration came from.

By far the most entertaining, thought-provoking, and even educational autobiography I’ve ever read.
What’s on his Watchlist? It also appears as a special feature on Looney Tunes Golden Collection: But I really did love this look into Chuck’s mind. We try, and are usually able, to keep the more antisocial traits of those characters under control.
Jan 19, April rated it it was amazing Shelves: Charles Martin “Chuck” Jones was an American animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of animated films, most notably of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts for the Warner Bros Cartoons studio. I particularly enjoyed him talking about character development and chyck how everything comes from character.
Probably I w There’s a lot of padding here for a relatively short book. It was a fantastic look into the people and processes of the Looney Tunes. Jones also includes photographs and sketches of himself and the other artists vhuck worked with at Schlesinger Studios and Warner Brothers. And something about Tex Avery. When Warner discovered that Jones had violated his exclusive contract with them, they terminated him. Kind of like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

Chuck Jones was always one of my heroes, and I loved reading about him. Jam-packed with copious illustrations, Chuck Amuck delves into Jones’ early animation career and culminates in the many years he spent working in the animation department at Warner Brothers, helping to create dozens of characters and writing and directing hundreds of classic cartoon characters — like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Sylveste Chuck Amuck and a follow-up volume Chuck Reducks is the lighthearted but extremely informative autobiography of legendary cartoon animator Chuck Jones.
