Don Ihde born is a philosopher of science and technology, and a post-phenomenologist.

Ihde is the author of thirteen original books and the editor of many others. After how much a previous author liked and referred to this work, I thought I’d like it better, but found it fairly repetitive and dense. The book m I loved the theories brought up here, but a handful of pretzels would have made him less dry. It’s always refreshing to see a philosopher actually try and reach out to his audience rather than think he’s on an intellectual pedestal. Though I must say he wanted to make sure his audience got him.


I wasespecially impressed with Ihde’s balanced criticisms and ability to parse out and synthesize recent arguments concerning modern technology. This book is not yet featured on Listopia.
