HT12E is a series encoder IC (Integrated Circuit) for remote control applications. It is commonly used for radio frequency (RF) applications. By using the. HT12E Encoder IC can be used only with its pair HT12D. These two ICs together form an Encoder and Decoder pair. The HT12E Encoder IC starts working by giving enable signal to the Transmission Enable pin. The 4-word data will be encoded until the TE pin.

Can be used in Home automation for short range remote switching Safety systems like Burglar alarm system, Smoke or Fire alarm system etc. There are address combinations which I feel will do a ht12 job in securing the communication and keep away interference.
Where are the input pins on the ic I would like to connect a potentiometer to the input on the ic for rc car. Thank you and I will let you know the working of the circuit. It is mainly used in interfacing RF and infrared circuits.
The above diagram shows the practical set up of the HT12E encoder IC for better understanding on the working. Using the address ix we can provide 8 bit security code for secured data transmission between the encoder and the decoder. We should set the bits in same pattern on Encoder and Decoder IC to pair them.
HT12E Encoder IC
They are paired with 2 12 series of decoders for use in remote control system applications. But pins AD8-AD11 are not address pins, so we have only 8 pins for address A0-A7, which can provide only different addresses, so this IC is not good for production? In ht12d decoder section, i am changing the address by giving delay. If you want security you can connect any of the 8 pins to 5V to make it high.
Thank you for your reply. There is no use of that IC here. The primary function of HT12E is to encode a bit and send it out through the output pin. So you can connect your Arduino with it and work. No mechanical switching involved.
HT12E is capable of operating in a wide Voltage range from 2. The encoded bit can be obtained from the Dout pin pin But if i want to transmit data in 5th encoder, in which pin of encoder sholud i provide data to encoder???
Thank you for the reply and clarification. Frank Donald December 24, 59 Comments. These are the 8-bit address bits, which is used to protect your data.
HT12E Encoder IC buy online in India – Robomart
So if you are working on a project which has to transmit a 4-bit data from one end to other either by wire or wireless then this IC pair will be best suited for you. In this image I have made all four data bits as zero lowwhen this is decoded we will get the same kind of bits on the output side of HT12D, similarly we can make any changes on these 4-bits and they will be reflected on the output side of the HT12D decoder IC.
You can know to set up the HT12D after this from here. Virgin Galactic — Commercial Space Flight. Dear Frank Thank you for your reply. After receiving a low signal the HT12E starts the transmission of 4 data bits as shown in the timing diagram above.
Arduino based GPS receiver. These four pins are used to send data, the data encoded here will be decoded on HT12D IC sharing the same address bits. These two ICs together form an Encoder and Decoder pair. Submitted by admin on 30 October Skip to main content.
However if you need to have more address combinations then you might want to look for other encoder-decoder pair available in the market. Notify of all new follow-up comments Notify of new replies to all my comments. For decoding a data the IC will requires an oscillator, luckily this IC has one in-built.
It encodes the 12 bit parallel data into serial for transmission through an RF transmitter. Interface GPS with Arduino. Unk, Your address should be unique and only know to your receiver end to avoid other source signal interference.
HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit of 2 12 series of encoders.
HT12E begins a 4-word transmission cycle upon receipt of a transmission enable. Request you idea on this. The IC has a built in oscillator. Pull the Transmission Enable pin pin 14 to ground to activate transmission. This cycle is repeated as long as TE is kept low. Hii Frank, I am interfacing 4 encoder with different address configuration. It is very important that your Decoder should also have this same address for them to talk to each other.
So out of the bits 8-bits will be used to set address and the remaining 4-bit will be used to transmit data.
I have 5v 12d cut and 12v 12e ckt. I have a doubt.
